Product Description

Set is for two full sized skeins of Lively DK, colors: Nebula & Winter Morn. This bundle will be enough to complete the MEDIUM size cowl.

Williwaw pattern by Gretchen Mac is sold separately. Available @ https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/williwaw-cowl - $6

Designer Notes:

"In southcentral Alaska, a Williwaw wind is a sudden wild gale that rolls off the mountains. As a kid I loved hiking to Williwaw Lakes up in the Chugach Mountains, and the motifs in this cowl represent the sub-alpine plants that grew along the trail: dwarf dogwood flowers, paperbark birches, and wild roses with big ruby rosehips. This cozy knit embodies everything I love about living in the north.

The Williwaw Cowl is worked in the round with a provisional cast on and grafted at the end for a seamless finish. It features adjustable sizing, and you can embellish the grafted area with embroidery or duplicate stitch to add a personal touch and make the project truly yours."

Finished Measurements and Sizing:

Sizes: Small, Medium, Large.
Finished circumference: (24.5”, 28”, 31.25”) / (61.25, 70, 78 cm)
Finished height: 7.25” / 18 cm for all sizes

Needles:

US 4 / 3.5 mm needles for working in the round, or size needed to obtain gauge. 14-16” circulars recommended, plus a second set of circular needles of a similar size for grafting.

Gauge: 24 sts and 26 rows = 4” 10 cm

Yarn specs:

With the same tight twist our Artisan Sock yarn is known for, Lively DK is a heavier weight with a noticeable sproingyness. This yarn can be used for any project calling for a heavy DK or light worsted weight yarn. And since it is superwash, it's perfect for quick baby knits!

  • 90% superwash merino, 10% nylon
  • 275 yards, 125 grams (skeins put up by yardage, weight may have slight variance.)

Gauge:

  • socks - 6.5 stitches per inch - US 3-4 / 3.25mm - 3.5mm needle
  • garments and accessories: 5.5 stitches per inch - US 6 / 4mm needle, 4 - 4.5mm crochet hook

Recommended care:

Hand launder with mild, wool friendly soap in tepid water. Lay flat to dry.

While we recommend hand washing to preserve the color and life of your handmade item, Lively DK may be machine washed on gentle cycle and machine dried at low temperature.
