Lichen comes in many tones and hues, depending on where in the world you live. Growing up in the high desert of southern Idaho, our lichen was a bright, golden color. It grows on the basalt rocks that are prevalent leftovers from ancient volcanic activity. This colorway is reminiscent of mother nature's splash of color that brightens up the reddish brown rocks and the dry, blowing grasses in this beautiful (and sometimes under-appreciated) climate.
